Hardware and Software Before October 2004 I used a Nikon N70 35mm film camera and made photographs with colour negative film. I now use a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED scanner to produce high resolution digital image files. The images in "Bangkok-Wats" and "Vientiane" were made with a Minolta Scan Elite 5400 scanner and processed using SilverFast Ai Studio. Since October 2004 I used a Canon 1Ds digital camera, but up-graded to a Canon 1Ds MkIII in November 2007. I capture in raw mode and now process the images in Lightroom 3.2 and Photoshop CS5, aided by plug-ins such as PK Sharpener Pro 2, Nik Silver Efex 2 and Nik Viveza 2. I also use Lightroom's Greyscale panel and CS5's B&W Adjustment Layer for B&W conversions. I also use a Phase One 645DF camera with Phase One P40+ digital back and Phase One lenses 45mm and 75mm ~ 150mm zoom. I print my photographs on Ilford Gold Fibre Silk paper in an Epson 4900 printer using the Epson Ultrachrome HDR inkset. The galleries are produced in Lightroom. |
